Ace, Clutch, or Flop? #22

And now it’s back to the ever so comforting map known as Inferno. Ok, maybe not yet but this is video is on it, it’s just from a while ago. Anyways, 1v2 with bomb planted, but I was broke and only had a Mac-10 while the other two had an AK and a M4.

Back on Cache again, not overly familiar with it yet but that’s fine. Scores is as close as it gets at half time so pistol round as Ts is quite important. Make our way quickly to A site, get the quick plant at default and it’s a 3v3 we got this. Well that 3v3 becomes a 1v3 pretty damned quick and I’m running low on ammo.

Clever… bus?

I went through some of my old Steam screenshots and this was the only shot I had from my playthrough of L.A. Noire. While it was some time ago, I do remember what happened. The mission was to find this bus, and when I turned down the street I figured saw on the radar I should be on the same street. However, looking down the road I didn’t see it anywhere. When I got closer, I noticed the bus was showing not on the actual road itself but rather behind a house. Sure enough, I plowed through the yard and found the damn thing. Imagine my surprised when I talked to the driver and he wasn’t shit faced drunk but just really stupid.

For the longest time I’ve really only had Inferno in my map queue as it’s simply my favourite since they’ve updated Nuke. Slowly I’ve reintroduced myself to Train and the new Nuke as Inferno was getting a bit stale for me. Now I’ve thrown Cache and Overpass into the mix to change things up (no dice for Mirage or Dust II). So here goes nothing on a map I’m rusty on, should be a simple 1v1.

Soylent Coffee

Shortly after establishing a new rail passenger line to the city of Rotterdam, I successfully delivered my first four railcars full of happy travelers. To my horror, after looking into the port activities, I had discovered the terrible truth of what they did with the visitors. As ghastly as this was, I shook off my fright a reminded myself I’m a business tycoon first and foremost. I quickly offered to transport the new coffee “grounds” to the nearest port for further sale and consumption. While the profits did relax me and and allow me to sleep easy that night, I did not partake in the evening supper down at the Rotterdam hotel.

Unappreciative Preston

After I enthusiastically came back from spreading the word of the Minutemen, doing good and all that, Preston was not impressed at all. In fact all he did was give me a damned cold shoulder and then a little shrug! What an arse hole!

I felt like adding a couple of emotional chords (thanks to radutron.com) would make it kind of funny.

Theme Hospital fans rejoice!

I’m not a huge fan of many big triple A games studios and publishers are pushing out these days so I can’t really say I’ve got any titles that I’m excited for in 2018. But it only took 18 days into the new year to put one on the list. Yesterday Sega tweeted and posted an announcement trailer (above) for Two Point Hospital coming in Fall of 2018. From the limited video and screenshots available, it looks to be fairly cartoonish, which excites me as it indicates that they will hopefully closely follow the mechanics that made Theme Hospital so fun. I’m also happy to see it available on Steam (of course). So if you were a big fan of the original and want to see some updated graphics (and who know what else could be new), put this one on your wish list as it looks promising!

If you’ve never played Theme Hospital, it’s a great sim game and you should check it out. You will most likely love it if you’ve liked games like Rollercoaster Tycoon and Prison Architect. It’s not on Steam, but it is available for at GOG for $7.49 CAD.

Typical conversation in my empire

Consul Oda Nabunaga: “For our next grand wonders we shall construct the Parthenon! the Grand Library! And the Oracle! Engineers! Where will be the best location to construct such great monuments?”

Civil Engineer #1: “The Oracle would be best built out in the ocean!”

Civil Engineer #2: “The Parthenon should be out out in the ocean too! Not as far, but still pretty inaccessible.”

Civil Engineer #3: “The Grand Library should be built half way down a hill partly on a river! But only one wing of it should sit over the river! Oh and about a third of the courtyard should be on the river too!”

Consul Oda Nabunaga: “I really should’ve researched the engineering technology before I hired you guys…”
