Another 1v3, I’m starting to get the hang of these now by the looks of it. Got to love playing in silver as I most likely should’ve been killed by the sniper in the window. Also this one involves a little trickery.

CS:GO: A Tale of Trolls
Solo queuing for a competitive match in CS:GO is sometimes a gamble, there’s no doubt about that. You’ve got potential for trolls, people who don’t communicate, and straight up arseholes. But since it’s mostly all I play, I accept this truth and just dive into a game and hope for the best. But this is beyond my worst expectations. These guys were quite annoying on the mic to begin with and the worst part is there was two of them so we couldn’t even kick them.
Ok, maybe they’re annoying but at least they’re trying. Right? Ok, maybe they just got off to a really bad start and accidentally killed four teammates in four rounds. Right!? Ok, whom am I kidding. These guys are trolls or are trying very hard to derank.
Another round, another two team kills. How were these guys not yet automatically kicked out of the match!? Also it looks like Ghostofdead threw in the towel and just quit, can’t really say I blame him.
Two team killing trolls and a bot. How it was 2-3 for the other team at this point is beyond me.
They eventually ended up quitting all together but it was far too late for me and thatmexican619 (props to him for sticking around and trying with me). If those two would have actually tried we could’ve easily won this match. The fact that we made it 16-8, I put up a 42-20 KD, 107 points on my own (not to mention the kills on the bots) makes me think the other team saw an easy win and didn’t try too hard though. Ah well, let’s hope I don’t queue up with people like this again…
App Recommendation: Habitica

In the spirit of New Year’s resolutions and all I thought I’d make a recommendation related to something healthy for body and productivity. But it’s also got to be gaming related no? Well not really since I’ve got plenty of non-gaming related posts. The fact that it is actually gaming related is just a nice little bonus. Also, I would just like to point out that I’m not affiliated with this app in anyway or am being paid (because you know, this blog is oh so popular). For this recommendation I’m highlighting the Habitica app which is available both on iOS and Android. It is somewhat of a RPG that advances based on your actions in the real world.
Like many RPGs you begin by creating a character although a class is not chosen until level ten. As mentioned, your character advances based on your real life actions so you’ll need a little time in the beginning to set these up custom to your lifestyle. There is a habits section which can be set up as a negative or a positive. For instance, one of my own negative habits are cigarettes as I’m trying hard to quit this year. Every time I cave and smoke one, I mark it in the habits tab and it damages my character by hitting his hit points and mana. One of my positives is a full glass of infused water (hate the taste but it’s healthy) and whenever I finish off a tall glass, I hit it in the habits as a positive and it gives my character some experience and a couple of coins. Another section is your dailies. These are basically to do tasks that you want to do on a daily basis. An example of this for me is the treadmill for a minimum of thirty minutes. Completing these comes with experience and coins, but should you miss a day then your character again takes some damage.
My personal favourite section though is the todo list. I’ve always kept a to do list on my phone to keep track of, well, my to dos. If you don’t complete these your character is not negatively affected so you can keep an item on the list for a long time without repercussions. But once you get around to completing the task your character gets the rewards. If you’re always keeping up with your dailies and doing good habits then knocking down the to do list is a nice little bonus. The habits, dailies, and to do tasks can all be customized in terms of difficulty, classification, and frequency as well.
Lastly there is a rewards section to spend your hard earned coins. You can buy items and equipment for your characters to make them stronger and look all badass. Additionally you find eggs and can hatch them to gain pets, then you can find food to feed them and grow them into mounts. I’m only level ten but there’s also plenty of other stuff I’ve barely scratched the surface. There are quests you can do solo or with a party and challenges you can join in the community. A tavern to rest at (no negative effects from missing your dailies) and guilds to join.
Obviously the game is basically dependent on the honour system, so while you can easily cheat your way through it I feel that really defeats the purpose. The way it’s set up, you can tailor the rewards or negatives to focus only a small portion of your life you’re looking to improve.Or you can expand it to include a wide array of thingsand try to improve many aspects of your life.In all, Habitica adds a little fun to trying to better yourself and I thought it might be a nice little motivator for those trying hard to accomplish this in 2018.
Bullseye!
So this Draugr was slowly walking towards me while I was hiding in the shadows. While he was still far off, I took aim at his head with the expectation of the distance dropping my arrow to about chest level. I must’ve miscalculated the gap between us as my arrow only came down slightly. But with this error came the perfect shot, literally right between the eyes. Beautiful.
A wild Dragonlore appeared!
It’s definitely not everyday I come across one of these (especially in such great condition!) so I couldn’t resist getting a snap of it. The guy named Ace was definitely loaded. Not only did he have gloves and a pricey knife, his inventory was full of other high end skins and multiple knives. God damn.
Ace, Clutch, or Flop? #18
Alright the scene is pretty straight forward with this. It’s a 1v3 and I’ve got my loyal MP7 on me. But there’s a bit of a twist to this one, my ping spikes up and floats around 300ms. On the upside I bounce around a bit but on the down side so do they. To be fair it starts to drop near the end but does it drop in time?
CSI: Markarth
During one of my many visits to Markarth, I came across the local guards during their investigations. It seems that there was a ruckus after some Forsworn had broken into the city. Unfortunately, it seems that the city guards are terribly underfunded as they employed no other tactics besides simply asking each other “What happened?”. After a little while I had decided to leave and thought to myself that if this was the finest of Markarth, the most likely conclusion they would arrive at would be “Looks like they fell, case closed boys.”
My teammate did not lack the discipline
This is what it looks like when your teammate has very little faith in the opponents AWP aim.
Ace, Clutch, or Flop? #17
Hey check it out, my first Nuke ACOF video! Unfortunately it’s a 1v3, but on the upside I do have my favourite spot for watching A site.
