Design #71: Stop! He’s already dead!

Such a classic episode, “Homie the Clown” is episode 15 from season 6. Homer decides to fulfill one of his many life long dreams of becoming a profession clown and enrolls in Krusty’s Clown College. He becomes a regional Krusty impersonator and this has obvious hilarious results. At one point, Homer is cutting the ribbon for a new burger where he beats the living shit out of a fake burglar. One kid screams “Stop! He’s already dead!” during the thrashing. The shirt he wears is a simple stripe pattern and I thought why not.

Design #70: Springfield Isotopes

While the Springfield Isotopes are mentioned in a few episodes, this specific design is from episode 11 in season 10 called “Wild Barts can”t be Broken”. In short, Homer’s drinking crew gets drunk celebrating the Isotopes and leave a path of destruction through the town. This gets blamed on the Springfield kids and a curfew is put into effect. This is near the end of the golden era, so it’s debatable whether it’s a good episode or not, but it does have some good jokes. I also noticed I forgot to put the text at an angle but now I’m too lazy too fix it. Meh.

Design #69: The Flying Hellfish

Die hard Simpsons fans are going to know this logo for sure, it’s from season 7 episode 22 called “Raging Abe Simpson and His Grumbling Grandson in The Curse of the Flying Hellfish” which is a mouthful of an episode title. Abe is forced to move in with his family and recalls the tale of his WWII company and how they agreed to split a cache of valuable artwork after the war. The group agreed that whoever is the sole survivor would receive it all, and Abe and Mr. Burns are the last left after Asa Phelps passes away. Drawing this logo was one of the first times I began getting comfortable using the live paint tool and I’m quite happy with how this turned out.

Design #68: DMV Regulation Kings

This one is from season 7 episode 12 called “Team Homer” where Homer scams his boss into financing his bowling team. Plenty of great jokes in this episode but I’m just to lazy to cite them all. Regardless, one bowling team that Homer and the rest of the Pin Pals go up against is called the DMV Regulation Kings, so I made it into a design.

Design #65: She She Lounge

In season 7 episode 1 called “Fear of Flying” we see Homer get banned from Moe’s Tavern. In a quest to find a new watering hole, he ends up drinking in an airport bar and being mistaken for a pilot. From there he damages an airplane which somehow results in his family getting a free trip. We then find out Marge has a deep fear of flying. This episode is from the golden age of the shown, so there are many hilarious great quotes. But anyways, while Homer is seeking a new drinking establishment, he finds himself visiting a lesbian bar called the She She Lounge. So naturally I thought this would be a simply yet great design, especially on a pillow.

Design #64: New Bedlam Rest Home for the Emotionally Interesting

In season 7 episode 8 called “Mother Simpson” the power plant employees are spending their Saturday picking up garbage, as some sort of community service I presume. Homer decides to get out of it by faking his death. Eventually he goes to straighten things out and has his long lost mother walk back into his life. However, she has a shady past that forces her to flee Homer’s life yet again. During the beginning where the employee are picking up garbage, one can be seen picking up a straight jacket with “New Bedlam Asylum” on it. This also happens to be where Homer is sent when he wears a pink shirt to work in a different episode that absolutely exists.

Design #63: Frankie says relax

This one comes from episode 16 of season 12 called “Bye, Bye, Nerdie”. Arguably this is after the golden age of the show so it’s not entirely a fan favourite. The story line goes that Lisa gets picked on by a new kid at school, and through investigation finds out the new kid picks on nerds due to their smell. She develops a spray that masks this smell and helps out all of nerdkind. At one point a kid on the busy ironically comments on the new kids appearance saying she’ll never fit in. This kid is wearing a Frankie says relax shirt, which was a thing in the 80s from the song.

Design #62: My kid, my facts

This design comes from season 34 episode 16 called “Hostile Kirk Place”. As it’s a fairly new episode and I’m not all that caught up these days I can’t really describe the episode, I just noted this shirt down to make as a design. Given Kirk’s character, I can only assume that the school is teaching something he doesn’t agree with protests against it as some jab at right wingers or the anti vax crowd.

Design #60: Buy blue pants

This design comes episode 17 episode 12 called “My Fair Laddy” where Lisa attempts to make Groundskeeper Willie a proper gentlemen for the school science fair. The side plot is Homer ruining his favourite blue pants and helping the manufacturer raise sales. He does this buy putting some “superliminal” advertising on the back of his head. I don’t recommend doing this so I made a design you can wear to advertise them.
