Design #71: Stop! He’s already dead!

Such a classic episode, “Homie the Clown” is episode 15 from season 6. Homer decides to fulfill one of his many life long dreams of becoming a profession clown and enrolls in Krusty’s Clown College. He becomes a regional Krusty impersonator and this has obvious hilarious results. At one point, Homer is cutting the ribbon for a new burger where he beats the living shit out of a fake burglar. One kid screams “Stop! He’s already dead!” during the thrashing. The shirt he wears is a simple stripe pattern and I thought why not.

Design #32: Rich Bitch

This design comes from an episode called “Fat Man and Little Boy” which is the fifth episode of season 16. Homer essentially lives the dream when he quits his job because his son is making a ton of money. Bart begins designing crude t-shirts and starts selling them in stores owned by Goose Gladwell, who owns stores that sell all sorts of novelty toys. As you can imagine, I’ve got this episode saved as there are a ton of other simple shirt design I plan on recreating.

Design #30: Bullseye

In season 11 episode 14 called “Alone again, Natura-diddily” Homer paints his stomach with ketchup as a bullseye in an attempt to get hit with a t-shirt gun. But unfortunately a bobby-pin on the ground catches his eye and he moves out of the way of a flying t-shirt. This leads to Maude Flanders getting hit, falling to her death and killing off her character. If you don’t want to get messy with ketchup you can buy this design instead.

Design #20: Dignity

Possibly one of the greatest Simpsons scenes of all time comes from season 8 episode 6 called “A Milhouse Divided”. Although the final result of the scene is Luann demanding divorce, which is a serious topic, the lead up is hilariously absurd. The eyebrow, the awkward comments at dinner, cornstarch keeping down the urges, the portrayal of dignity during charades, the commotion of Lisa’s singing, and Allied Biscuit. There’s a reason this scene, and Kirk’s drawing of dignity, is an absolute classic that has spawn countless Simpsons shitposts. So it was only natural that I make this a design in my shop. On a side note, the first sale for this design was not on a t-shirt or some other commonly purchased item. It was in an acrylic block as pictured below. That along makes me cry with laughter. Simpsons fans will get an instant kick out of it on someone’s mantle while those who don’t know what it is may believe it’s a piece of modern art.

Design #17: Die Bart Die

Not really a background item that I replicated, but I figured that tattoos can also work as designs on shirt. I know, I’m a genius. The one is from a golden era episode called “Cape Feare” which is episode 2 of season 5. It involves Sideshow Bob being released from prison and the Simpsons being put into the witness relocation program. Among many brilliant jokes, how Bob brushes off the accusation that he has this tattoo on his chest that says “Die Bart, Die” is pure gold as well as the follow up quip from the courtroom. For this one rather than just use simple text, I decided to make it more accurate to the cartoon style, as it looks more authentic as a poorly done prison tattoo.

Design #16: Crestfield Wax Paper

Homer gets a gun in episode 5 of season 9 called “The Cartridge Family” and of course is a reckless idiot with it. The reason though, is that Springfield becomes engulfed by a riot that was sparked by a soccer game. At the beginning of the game, legendary soccer player Pelé gives a short speech sponsored by Crestfield Wax Paper while where a soccer jersey with this logo on it. Is this the actually Crestfield Wax Paper official logo? I have no clue as to what it is so I’m going to say yes.

Design #15: Captain Springfield?

This one is from season 2 episode 21 called “Three Me and a Comic Book” where Bart, Martin, and Milhouse pool their money together to buy a copy of the coveted Radioactive Man #1 comic book. A the beginning of the episode, Bart attends a comic convention and the doorman wears a shirt that where the logo resembles Captain America’s logo. While I could have drawn a perfect star and such, I decided to make this look a bit like the cartoon and made it a bit wonky.
