Design #5: Time for Chili

When I began this design I barely even knew how to use the pen tool. I spent plenty of time zooming and refining my curves for this design and I’m quite happy how it turned out. This design comes from season 8 episode 9 titled “El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer)” and damn that is a mouthful.

Here’s the link to the product as a hat, but you can view the design on multiple items if you’re interested. It’s also a damned shame this hat doesn’t actually come in orange.

Design #4: Dancin’ Homer

Another fairly straight forward one, this one is from season 2 episode 5 simply titled “Dancin’ Homer” where Homer has a brief stint as a mascot for the bush league Springfield Isotopes. Sadly his efforts were not appreciated when he moved up to he majors in Capital City. Rather than have a perfect letter H with nice lines and all, I purposely decided to make it a little oblong to reflect the cartoonish nature and Homer’s big gut.

Design #3: Put Food in Me

From a golden era season 7 episode 25 entitled “Summer of 4 foot 2” where the Simpsons use Flanders’ beach house, Homer grabs the sticky note from Marge that’s originally attached to the fridge. You can get this as either a sticker or shirt and I’m really hoping you’ll get someone telling you “Well duh” in a Marge voice. Granted that was her response to the sticky notes on the ice tray.

Design #2: Jimbo’s skull shirt

Naturally after I made the Lil Jimbo bunny shirt the next step was to make Jimbo’s skull shirt. There are numerous versions and variations on the show as they’re drawn slightly different each time, I went with the one that appears in season 6 episode 20 called “Two Dozen and One Greyhounds” when Bart is wanting to raise the puppies to defend against bullies.

Design #1: Lil’ Jimbo Bunny

So it’s been quite some time since I’ve posted anything as outside of this blog as I’ve been fairly busy. However, when I do get some spare downtime I’ve been tinkering with digital illustrations. While I’m ultimately uploading them to my RedBubble shop and possibly some other print on demand shops, I’ve also decided I want to catalogue them all on here as well and also show where the idea came from. My original thought was to do t-shirts and other products found in the backgrounds of popular shows (Obviously started with the Simpsons) to avoid getting in any copyright trouble. This is the first one I did, and as you can tell it’s a fairly basic drawing but everyone’s got to start somewhere.

This design comes from the Simpsons season 9 episode 3 called “Lisa’s Sax”. This heart warming episode feature’s flashbacks to when Bart first began school. During this time, a young Jimbo is introduced as the school bully where he will administer noogies and nipple twisters. I decided to go a little smaller with the design on t-shirts as I think it looks a bit better.
